CURRENT OPEN POSITIONS

Curator of Exhibitions/Project Manager

The American Federation of Arts seeks a Curator of Exhibitions to initiate, develop, manage, and coordinate exhibitions of a wide range of media, artists, historical periods, and cultural traditions. The Curator will work with distinguished institutions and leading scholars in the field to develop and shape AFA exhibitions tours.

The curatorial staff at the AFA primarily act as project managers; responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of individual exhibitions, including working closely with guest curators to shape exhibitions and realize all loans, securing exhibition tours, liaising with participating institutions and with key departments of the AFA in their work on each exhibition.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and at least three years in a museum (or equivalent) with experience in organizing exhibitions required. Non-western curatorial experience preferred. M.A. or Ph. D. in art history preferred.
