ArtTalks—Matthew Ritchie
The following illustrated video segments are excerpted from a public lecture that
artist Matthew Ritchie gave on April 25, 2007, at the National Arts Club as part of
the AFA’s lecture series ArtTalks. During his hour-long talk, Ritchie discussed
artists who have influenced his work and his thoughts about where his art fits in the
historical continuum. His PowerPoint presentation included charts illustrating some
of his complex, multidisciplinary theories, as well as installation views of his work
at the Andrea Rosen Gallery in New York and on the walls of the aquatic facility at
MIT.
ArtTalks are public presentations that feature some of the most influential figures
in the art world.
