Brad Cloepfil
June 2008
Christie's

As the featured speaker for the June 18 ArtTalk, leading American architect Brad Cloepfil articulated his views on the relationship between buildings and the art they house. Cloepfil presented an hour-long lecture, accompanied by images from past design projects, and engaged the audience in a question-and-answer session.

Cloepfil discussed his recent and upcoming projects for the visual and performing arts, including his recent redesign of 2 Columbus Circle for the Museum of Arts & Design (formerly the American Craft Museum). As Principal and Lead Designer of Allied Works Architecture, Cloepfil has designed a number of important cultural, educational, and commercial projects throughout the United States, including the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, the expansion of the Seattle Art Museum, the University of Michigan Museum of Art, the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, and the new Clyfford Still Museum in Denver.
