April Gornik
December 4, 2009

Landscape painter April Gornik shared insights about her artistic process at the December 4th ArtTalk, captivating the audience with her dramatic depictions of seas, lakes, fields, marshes, rain, storms, and deserts. Gornik, whose work can be found in the collections of a number of major museums, has earned a reputation as a contemporary American successor to J.M.W. Turner with her virtuosic large-scale landscapes. She has recently traveled to Namibia and Tanzania, and in many of her subsequent works, the open African plain conveys a sense of the sublime in nature. April Gornik is represented by Danese Gallery.
