Christie's

In a talk titled “The Goods, the Bads, the Peculiars: Museums Lately,” Peter Schjeldahl, one of America’s foremost art critics, shared his insights into the current state of art museums and allowed audience members to participate in a question-and-answer session. Schjeldahl is the head art critic for The New Yorker. Before joining the staff there in 1998, he contributed art criticism to ArtNews, The New York Times, The Village Voice, and 7 Days. Schjeldahl has written numerous books of art criticism, including The Hydrogen Jukebox: Selected Writings (1991) and Let’s See: Writings on Art from The New Yorker (2008), as well as several books of poetry. Schjeldahl is the recipient of a Guggenheim fellowship and the Frank Jewett Mather Award for excellence in art criticism from the College Art Association.
