Anna Gaskell
October 2003
Anna Gaskell is one of the most compelling photographers on the contemporary art scene. In her series Resemblance, Gaskell creates a terrifying yet fantastic world in which the distinction between creators and their creations is blurred, with the viewer left to determine who holds dominion over whom. Her earlier series of photographic episodes (Wonder and Override) are based on a loose re-interpretation of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. |
