Philip-Lorca diCorcia A large audience gathered at Christie's to hear Philip-Lorca diCorcia, who spoke engagingly about his artistic process and his commercial photography, presenting examples from several of his series, including Heads, Streetwork, and Thousand.
One of the most compelling photographers on the contemporary art scene, diCorcia is best known for his seemingly improvisational yet meticulously choreographed photography, which often uses a combination of natural and artificial light. The photographs in his recent show Thousand were praised as “technically perfect, highly personal, full of life” by Roberta Smith of The New York Times. |
